How Does Laser Hair Removal Work?
The cutting edge technology used at Gleam works using a long pulse that emits a high energy current which travels along a light beam to treat the hair follicle at the root. When it is received by the hair follicle, it is transmuted into heat where it succinctly nullifies the hair follicle leaving the surrounding skin untouched. The skin remains protected during the entirety of the treatment by means of a revolutionary cooling process which provides cooling relief to the skin’s upper layers. This procedure provides maximum comfort while delivering much needed protection to the delicate surface of the skin.

How Does Pain Free Laser Hair Removal Technology Work?
The breakthrough revolutionary technology of the Soprano 810 Diode and Cynosure Elite has been described as the most comfortable hair removal options available. Pulses of energy gradually heat the follicles in the skin’s dermal layer while an additional cooling mechanism ensures the surface of your skin stays cool and comfortable throughout your treatment.
Should I Shave before the Treatment?
Shaving the day before or just prior to the treatment is recommended and you may shave again twenty – four hours after treatment unless instructed otherwise.
When Will I see Results?
You should expect to see approximately 10%-15% of hair removed with each treatment.
Why do I need 6 - 12 treatments?
Hair growth occurs in 4 stages: Early Anagen (early hair growth), Anagen (active hair growth) Catagen (regression) Telogen (resting, not growing) Laser hair removal only affects the Anagen stage, (actively growing hair). Therefore, approximately twenty-five-percent of hair is removed with each treatment. After 4 to 12 treatments, the area should be free from hair.
Will my hair ever grow back?
Actively growing hairs that are treated should not grow back. Once a hair follicle is damaged it cannot grow hair. However, hair follicles that were not in the active growth phase will need to be treated. It’s also not unusual for patients to have a touch-up two years after initial treatment due to hormonal changes.
